Synthetic Shave Brushes
Posted by Michael Polsinelli on
Very Large Synthetic Knot In my first order, Antonella Pandolfo included a couple of synthetic shave brushes. One was an older fiber similar to the white Omega Syntex brushes, but with a curled fiber that retained water better. The other was a modern fiber similar to the Omega High Performance Series. I don’t have much experience with synthetics, but I liked the TS (Tasso Syntetico=Badger Synthetic) brush much better than my old Opal with the Pure-tech 4th genTop view of Zenith Synthetic BrushKnot of TS505AKLknot. When the brushes are dry, I can’t feel a Knot of TS505AKL difference between the fibers....
Aluminum Handled Professional Boar Shave Brushes

Before: The middle brush was the only brush that I used for 7-8 years After (some polishing with Mother’s aluminum polish): I should have polished it years ago. I currently have two aluminum handled Zenith Professional brushes for sale, One has a 26 mm knot with 64 mm loft. The other also has a 26 mm knot, but with a 57 mm loft. Both brushes have less splay than the Omega Pro 48, and the Semogue SOC. The hair is also finer than the Omega. Obviously, the one...

Basically, the when the epoxy of the knot is above the top of the handle. This effectively shortens the loft making the brush feel scrubbier (more backbone) than a brush with the same loft and no glue knot. The Shave Nook forum has some...
Why Zenith Brushes
Posted by Michael Polsinelli on
In 2008-2009, I found a brush at a thrift store that was unused. It quickly became my favorite brush and I used it solely for 6-7 years. The logo wore off years ago, but I always remembered that it was made in Italy. As I learned more about shaving brushes, I wrongfully assumed that this brush was made by Pennellificio Omega, the famous Italian brush manufacturer. Fortunately in the spring of 2015, I stumbled across some discussion posts on Zenith brushes, but was unable to purchase one here in the States. After contacting the manufacturer, I decided to bring these...
